Cupid Ltd, headquartered in India, has been awarded the leading allocation in South Africa’s five-year national procurement programme for female and male condoms, covering 2025 to 2030. The deal positions Cupid as a primary supplier and reinforces its global procurement strategy.

The procurement contract, valued at ₹115 crore annually ($12.98 million/€29.9 million), is expected to commence in December 2025. Cupid is coordinating closely with approved South African distributors to ensure a phased and seamless rollout, enabling consistent supply across the programme’s duration.

Chairman and Managing Director Aditya Kumar Halwasiya said the allocation places Cupid at the forefront of South Africa’s prevention initiative. The company is engaging directly with customers and public-health authorities to manage supply, delivery schedules, and compliance requirements efficiently.

The partnership is projected to enhance Cupid’s international order pipeline and allow the company to surpass previously issued annual guidance. It supports ongoing capacity expansion in India, including scaling production lines, upgrading logistics systems, and strengthening vendor and distributor networks to meet projected demand.

By integrating into the South African national procurement framework, Cupid is expected to maintain continuous supply, reduce lead times, and bolster procurement reliability for government-backed health initiatives.

The company’s proactive coordination with local distributors ensures compliance with procurement protocols and adherence to quality standards, mitigating risks associated with large-scale international supply contracts.

The deal underscores the growing role of private companies in national procurement programmes, providing critical health products through structured government frameworks while expanding international revenue streams.

Cupid’s participation also highlights how Indian manufacturers are increasingly securing contracts in African national procurement initiatives, strengthening cross-border commercial engagement and operational excellence.
